Assamese Garoi  ( গৰৈ channa punctatus) cooked with Elephant apple)

Ingredients:

  1. Shallow fried channa punctatus -250 grm
  2. Half Ou Tenga (elephant apple)
  3. a pinch of turmeric powder
  4. salt to taste
  5. 1tsp Mustard oil
  6. 1/2 tsp mustard seed
  7. 1 whole green chilly
  8. 1 tsp rice flour

Method:

  1. Cut the Ou Tenga into pieces and boil in a pressure cooker.
  2. Take a pan, heat mustard oil and add mustard seeds, turmeric powder, chilly and salt .
  3. Add boiled Ou tenga with the boiled water.
  4.  Add 1\2 cup of water and boil.
  5.  Mix the rice flour with a little water to make a light paste and add in the pan.
  6.  Add the fried fish in the boiling stew and cook for another 15 minutes.
  7. Enjoy the  sour curry with steamed rice.
