Duck in Lentil – Haanh aaru Maahar Curry

Ingredients:

  1. Chopped Duck Meat – 1 Kg.
  2. Black Lentil – 1 Cup, soaked for minimum 8 hours.
  3. Onions – 1 big, Chopped.
  4. Ginger Garlic Paste – 2 tbs
  5. Fresh Cumin and Red Chilly Paste – 2 table spoon.
  6. Salt and turmeric – to taste
  7. Oil – 2 table spoon.

Method:

  1. For this you need a wok / pot with an air tight lid.
  2. Heat the oil.
  3. Add onions and ginger-garlic paste.
  4. When light brown, add meat, lentil and cumin chilly paste along with salt and turmeric.
  5. Fry till all the water evaporates.
  6. Now add about 2 cups of water and cover with lid.
  7.  Let it simmer. Keep adding water in between and check the consistency.
  8. Serve hot.
