Elise (hilsa) Fish with Raw Mango and Mustard
Ingredients:
Elise fish 4 pieces
Raw Mango 1 No
Mustard seeds 3 tsp (Combining White and Black Sariyah)
3 tablespoons of mustard oil
Turmeric 1/2 tsp
Kal jeera (black cumin seeds) 1/2 tsp
Green chilli – 2
Sweet curd : 2 tbsp
Salt – According to taste
Method:
- First, wash the fish well and put it in a dry bowl.
- Add turmeric powder and two teaspoons of curd to the fish and cook for about an hour.
- Peel a raw mango, grate it.
- Heat a pan and add mustard oil and add Kal jeera (black cumin seeds)and Green chilli.
- When it starts to pop add the mango and then the turmeric and stir for a minute. Then add the mustard paste and add two cups of lukewarm water and stir well. Then add the fish.
- Now close the lid and let it simmer for ten minutes.
- Before turning off the fire, add salt. Serve hot.
