Elise (hilsa) Fish with Raw Mango and Mustard

Ingredients:

Elise fish 4 pieces

Raw Mango 1 No

Mustard seeds 3 tsp (Combining White and Black Sariyah)

3 tablespoons of mustard oil

Turmeric 1/2 tsp

Kal jeera (black cumin seeds) 1/2 tsp

Green chilli – 2

Sweet curd : 2 tbsp

Salt – According to taste

Method:

  1. First, wash the fish well and put it in a dry bowl.
  2. Add turmeric powder and two teaspoons of curd to the fish and cook for about an hour.
  3. Peel a raw mango, grate it.
  4. Heat a pan and add mustard oil and add Kal jeera (black cumin seeds)and Green chilli.
  5. When it starts to pop add the mango and then the turmeric and stir for a minute. Then add the mustard paste and add two cups of lukewarm water and stir well. Then add the fish.
  6. Now close the lid and let it simmer for ten minutes.
  7. Before turning off the fire, add salt. Serve hot.
