Fish cooked with sorrel (Sukasak), which is sour to Taste
Fish cooked with sorrel (Sukasak), which is sour to taste.
Ingredients:
- 250 gm of fish of your choice
- 2 cups chopped suka sak (sorrel)
- 1 medium size potato (optional)
- 1 tbsp mustard or refine oil
- ½ tsp fenugeek seeds
- Turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- ¼ tsp sugar optional
- 2 cups Warm water
Method:
- Wash and marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder and salt.
- Mash the potatoes.
- Clean and chop the sorrel leaves.
- Heat the oil in a wok.
- Then add the fenugreek seeds.
- When fenugreek seeds turn black add the fish pieces and fry them lightly and keep them aside.
- Fry the sorrel leaves for a minute.
- Add turmeric powder, warm water, mashed potato and salt to taste.
- Add the fried fish and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- Serve it with steamed rice and green chillies.
