Fish cooked with sorrel (Sukasak), which is sour to taste.

Ingredients:

  1. 250 gm of fish of your choice
  2. 2 cups chopped suka sak (sorrel)
  3. 1 medium size potato (optional)
  4. 1 tbsp mustard or refine oil
  5. ½ tsp fenugeek seeds
  6. Turmeric powder
  7. Salt to taste
  8. ¼ tsp sugar optional
  9. 2 cups Warm water

Method:

  1. Wash and marinate the fish pieces with turmeric powder and salt.
  2. Mash the potatoes.
  3. Clean and chop the sorrel leaves.
  4. Heat the oil in a wok.
  5. Then add the fenugreek seeds.
  6. When fenugreek seeds turn black add the fish pieces and fry them lightly and keep them aside.
  7. Fry the sorrel leaves for a minute.
  8. Add turmeric powder, warm water, mashed potato and salt to taste.
  9. Add the fried fish and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
  10. Serve it with steamed rice and green chillies.
